This 4-day combination Uganda, Rwanda Primates trekking experience focusing purely on the stunning Volcanoes National Park. You'll be tracking agile golden monkeys and famous mountain gorillas in Bwindi National Park where more than half (54.9) of the world's population are inhabitants. Bwindi offers a unique birding opportunity, cultural experiences and elusive primates.
Semu Gorilla Safaris and Tours assigned- English speaking driver guide will receive you on arrival at Kigali Airport, either at the airport or hotel. There is an opportunity to visit the Presidential Museum which is the residence of two of the former Presidents of Rwanda. Here you will have an opportunity to learn a bit about the political history of Rwanda. And then leave the lively capital. You will drive north-west through lush hills and bustling market towns for approximately two and half hours, to the stunning Volcanoes National Park.

The golden monkeys' trekking excursion takes place in Volcanoes National Park at 7:00 am, the same time as the gorilla trekking. These rare monkey species are also listed as endangered. Volcanoes National Park has habituated groups that are available for trekking by visitors. The exercise starts with a short briefing from the park ranger at the RDB office. Thereafter, you will proceed to trek the golden monkeys through the rainforest of the Volcanoes National Park.
You will return to the accommodation for rest and lunch. After lunch, you will proceed to the Cyanika border post. From Cyanika. You'll cross the border into Uganda and stay overnight at a property close to Bwindi National Park, from where you will undertake the gorilla trekking the next day.

After breakfast, you will proceed to the rangers’ post. You will receive a briefing on the do's and don’ts during the trekking. You will then enter the Bwindi Forest for your adventure. The area offers a dramatic, steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense. It is crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. The time taken and the terrain vary with the movements of these great primates. Once you have located a gorilla group, you will be allowed an hour in their presence. Observing these gentle but endangered giants is unforgettable. You'll return to the accommodation, check out, and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. Lake Bunyonyi is framed by lush, green-terraced hills that reach a height of 2,200 – 2,478m, but it’s the 29 islands of various shapes and sizes scattered across the water, that make it most magical - you could admire them all day.

Have a relaxed breakfast, you will take a boat ride on this lake to tour different islands. Then we will head to another border, this time the Katuna border to cross to Rwanda. Upon reaching, we will do a Kigali city tour starting off with the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre visit. We will check different city landmarks and craft markets.
