The 1 Day Gorilla Trekking Tour will start with your driver-guide picking you up depending on your location Kigali/Kisoro/Kabale early in the morning and depart for Bwindi National Park to reach the park at 7 am and proceed for a briefing on the do’s and don’ts during the trekking. Bwindi is a big habitat for mountain gorillas in Uganda, harboring over 300 of them, which is almost half of the world’s gorilla population. You’ll encounter the gorillas firsthand on your trekking expedition with strenuous day trekking.
Detailed Itinerary
Your tour will start from Kigali where the assigned professional tour driver-guide will receive you at 3 am. Then, you’ll depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park crossing via the Katuna border. At 7 am, you’ll proceed to the rangers’ post. You will receive a briefing on the do’s and don’ts during the trekking. You will then enter the Bwindi Forest for your adventure. The area offers a dramatic, steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense. It is crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. The time taken and the terrain vary with the movements of these great primates. Once you have located a gorilla group, you will be allowed an hour in their presence. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle but endangered giants is unforgettable. After the excursion, you will descend back to the starting point. You’ll have lunch and then transfer back to Kigali/Kisoro /Kabale which you will reach in the evening.
