5 Day Gorilla Chimp Safari from Kigali Itinerary
This 5 day gorilla chimp safari from Kigali is built for travelers who want primates + wildlife without rushing. Day 1-2: gorilla trekking in Bwindi. Day 3: Kibale Forest chimp trekking. Day 4-5: game drives in Queen Elizabeth National Park for lions, elephants, and hippos. You fly out of Kigali, so transfers stay under 4 hours most days.
Day 1: Pick up from Kigali, City tour and transfer to Bwindi Forest NP
Your Tour will start from Kigali International Airport where by Your assigned professional driver guide will welcome you, having a short briefing about your safari, start your adventure with a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial. And later transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable NP crossing via the Katuna border. Enjoy viewing villages and skirts steep hills with stunning views of the lake below. Bwindi is a big habitat for mountain gorillas in Uganda, harboring over 310 of them, which is almost half of the world’s gorilla population. You will reach in the afternoon do nothing but only check-in at the accommodation #optional Batwa Community Trial Extra $70 per person.

Day 2:Gorilla trekking Bwindi Forest, return and stay at leisure – recovering
Have breakfast and move to the rangers’ post. You will receive some briefing (from a ranger-guide) on the dos and don’ts during gorilla trekking. Thereafter, you will enter the forest for your adventure and encounter. The beauty of this rain forest is spectacular! The area offers dramatic steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. The time taken (4-8 hours) and the terrain vary with the movements of these great primates. Once you have located a gorilla group, you will be allowed an hour in their presence. The time with these gentle but endangered giants is unforgettable. Return to the accommodation, and rest after a strenuous trek. *(extra cost): In case you finished early and the body is willing to go out again, you can request your guide to arrange; a community visit

Day 3:Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP Via Ishasha Sector
Be up early, have breakfast and embark on a transfer to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth NP – famously known for its tree-climbing lion population. Once there, undertake a game drive in search of this rare species of lions. The chance of spotting these lions stands at about 60-70% but sometimes they are hard to spot (most especially when they are down in the grassland looking for prey). Should you get the chance to spot the lions up in the tree, the sight is picturesque and unforgettable.
Check-in at the accommodation and have lunch. After lunch, you will go for a 2-hour boat trip on the Kazinga Channel that connects Lakes George and Edward. During the trip, the sight of wildlife including giant hippos, elephants and crocodiles among others will fascinate you. You will also see many varieties of birds at the water shores. *After the boat trip, you can decide either to return to the lodge to rest or first proceed for a brief late afternoon game drive and thereafter, return to the lodge.

Day 4:Early morning game drive and transfer to Kibale National Park
Be up early and have your breakfast. Proceed for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains and be on the look for Cape buffalos, herds of elephants plus lions, leopards (though hard to spot) among others. Thereafter, we shall embark (right away) for a transfer that will see us check in at an accommodation at the edge of the Kibale Forest NP. We hope to have lunch at this property and also rest a bit. There are *Optional activities (extra cost 20$ pp.): If interested, you can consider Bigodi wetland excursion (home to 200 Bird species and is a perfect site for the bird watching travellers OR crater lakes excursion. You will enjoy the beauty of the numerous small lakes, surrounded by gentle hills, and the stunning views all over

Day 5: Chimp Tracking and drive to Kampala
You will have breakfast and head to the trekking point where you will receive some briefing on the dos and don’ts during chimp trekking. Thereafter, you will proceed to trek the chimps in the Kibale Forest. An experienced ranger guide will take you chimp tracking and you will marvel at the sights of primates here. Once you locate the chimpanzees, you will have a full hour with them. You will return to your accommodation for lunch. Later, drive to Kampala arriving late afternoon/evening.
